Living consciously
Why this is tiring before you even begin. The myth of perfect sustainability, information fatigue and all-or-nothing thinking.
for perfectionists who have given up on being perfect.
A book about living more consciously, without the guilt that usually comes with the subject. There are no rules and no ideal behaviours to keep up with, but there is context, there are tools and there are questions to help you make your own choices, at your own pace.

None of this happens overnight. That was never the idea.
Big promises last two weeks because they were designed for an ideal version of your life instead of the life you actually have.
Waiting until the washing machine is full before you run it, wearing the same dress again, cooking at home because it is easier. You already do more than you think, and noticing it changes the weight you carry.
Conscious consumption is not knowing everything about everything. It is looking at a label, at a three-euro price tag or at the word “natural” and seeing what is not being said.
I would rather you knew what to expect, so have a look and see whether this book is for you.
Written in chapters that may look like phases. You can stop whenever you want and come back when you can.
Why this is tiring before you even begin. The myth of perfect sustainability, information fatigue and all-or-nothing thinking.
What to do with the guilt when things do not go to plan. The stages of change, the relapses and what you already do well without noticing.
How green talk arrived before the solutions. Reusable bags, coffee pods and “100% recyclable” packaging.
What does a label say, and what does it hide? Where does your money go when you buy something?
Why real self-care is rarely “Instagrammable”, digital consumption and the pressure to optimise everything.
Small habits that take weight off your routine, which areas to start with and what helps you stay consistent.
The difference between being sustainable and following through, and the one question that stays with you afterwards.
An excerpt from Chapter 2.
Sustainability is often talked about as if it were always a carefully weighed, almost philosophical decision. But, as I said in the first chapter, many sustainable practices happen every day, quietly and without any fuss, such as:
None of this is activism, and in practice it is efficiency, pragmatism and using fewer resources, which is to say, it is sustainability.
What I mean is that sustainability is not always pretty, minimal or Instagrammable. Most of the time it is just common sense applied to real life.

I’m a content creator and an innovation consultant. I write about sustainability, slow living, conscious consumption and the small choices that make everyday life simpler and more meaningful.
My path through design, innovation and social impact taught me to see change as a process made of small experiments, attempts and lessons learned. I don’t write as an expert. I write as someone walking the path and sharing what she finds along the way, and who believes that living more consciously doesn’t have to mean living perfectly.

No. The chapters were written as phases, so the order makes sense if you want to follow it, but each one works on its own. You can start with any of them, stop whenever you like and come back when you can.
It depends a lot on how you read. Straight through, it is perhaps an afternoon, but I would say it works better with pauses along the way, so that there is room to think.
No. A book about living with less noise should not add noise to your week, and that is what the last chapter says. There are a few very simple exercises and some suggestions, but none of it is compulsory.
The checklist is a list of 30 concrete changes you can start today. This book is about the process of moving towards a more conscious way of living.
The checklist and the book actually go together, so you can buy the book and download the checklist. If you already have the checklist and want to understand more about slow living, the book is the next step.
