If I told you there is a cosmetics brand that is environmentally friendly, organic and high quality… would you believe me? I imagine you would.

During the time I lived in Helsinki I discovered MOSSA Cosmetics and quickly became a convert. Anyone who knows me knows I love looking after my skin, and my skincare routine never slips (yes, I am one of those people with several steps). For me it was wonderful to add products to that routine that work, are affordable… and sustainable. 🌿 🍓

The brand’s argument is that we should value our skin and the earth equally, which is why the ingredients they use are berries from the Nordic landscape, a rich source of nutrients and vitamins. They also respect our planet, and the proof is the certification the products carry: ECOCERT / Cosmos. *

Which means that products with this certificate:

  • Contain a minimum of 95% organic plants and,
  • Have at least 20% organic ingredients in the total formula.

So this certification allows environmentally friendly brands to sell their products worldwide, and gives us the reassurance that we are making a choice that is good for our skin and good for the planet.

My favourite product, the Vitamin Cocktail Facial Oil, reflects exactly everything I have said. It is a blend of oils that leaves the skin (mine, at least) very soft, hydrated, glowing and not remotely greasy. The fragrance is delicious too, and I love going to bed with the scent of this oil, yes, because I use it mostly at night (applied straight onto the skin or mixed into my moisturiser). But there is more… there is the detail of the packaging, which is recyclable 🌿 🌍

Do not think this is advertising… it is not. It is purely my own opinion, shared. With it I hope you start to reconsider some of your choices and, if you like cosmetics, that the tip about certification proves useful.

*ECOCERT is the largest specialist and world leader in sustainability practices, so if you go for a product carrying that “stamp”, you know you are making a more sustainable choice.
