Do you know Tropic of C?

Tropic of C is an eco-lifestyle brand created by Candice Swanepoel that I admire a great deal (the quality goes without saying, it is 🔝). It is inspired by the shapes of the female body and takes nature as its greatest source of inspiration for colour, texture and pattern, so that every piece is made with love and respect for the planet.

Its core values are sustainability, empowerment, community and quality… and what does that mean? That it is a conscious brand with a positive impact.

On sustainability they take several things into account, from the fabrics used (econyl and repreve, for instance) to the packaging (labels made from bamboo and biodegradable garment bags, among others). Tropic of C gives priority to recycled materials and to methods that reduce water and energy use, so as to shrink their ecological footprint.

On empowerment, Tropic of C has various partnerships and programmes supporting women, one example being their commitment to the organisation mothers2mothers, which shows that female empowerment sits at the centre of their mission.

The collection that says the most to me is the collaboration between @sophieandersonbags and @tropicofc… because it is everything, and that is why I decided to get a piece. The pieces are all hand-knitted and they promote entrepreneurship and independence in rural artisan communities 🧡  and it still manages to be extremely comfortable, to sit beautifully on the body, and to be of excellent quality.

It probably worked out as the most expensive bikini in the world, since I had not counted on the customs charges, but it will be the bikini I wear most proudly for what it represents, of that you can be sure.

Do you have pieces that fill you with pride when you wear them?
